About
My name is Andy Lien and I’m the founder and editorial director of Marsh Press. It’s my new business that I hadn’t necessarily planned on starting but, now that I have, I am absolutely loving it. For too long, I’ve wanted to get out of my lane (or maybe just claim more lanes as mine) and do more with content and platforms; now I get to do that.
I’ve led award-winning content teams and directed editorial vision for brands like Hazelden Publishing and Lavender Media. Throughout my career, I've covered an incredible range of topics and industries—from healthcare, mental health, and behavioral health, to publishing, marketing, architecture, education, and the nonprofit sector. I've developed accessible content for everything from scientific e-learning and consumer wellness campaigns to trade shows, glossy magazines, and digital communities, making specialized knowledge relatable for any audience.
Having breadth and depth is essential to the work I do. The ability to connect ideas across fields lets me spot opportunities for innovation and craft strategies that are as comprehensive as they are nuanced. I draw on deep expertise in each subject I tackle while also weaving connections among them, which is how I’m able to help people break new ground and speak with greater authenticity and impact.
I’m recognized for my leadership and commitment to staff excellence, driving high-performing teams and facilitating lasting collaborations. Colleagues seek me out for making specialized topics—especially in wellness and inclusion—fresh and approachable. My work reflects core values: inclusive storytelling, a spirit of innovation, and a knack for connecting audiences to brands that matter.
I draw on a wide and deep base of experience—from publishing and media to marketing and communications—to craft strategies that are both visionary and actionable. Having developed content across books, podcasts, digital media, e-learning, and social platforms, I know how to shape work that connects with diverse audiences while staying true to the core mission.
Marsh Press is named for the land I now live on—a marsh that sustains me, inspires me, and grounds my work. I hold stewardship over part of this place. I'm mindful that nobody really owns stolen land, though the invasive cattails think they do.
The marsh is a space of transformation and resilience, balancing water and earth, offering sanctuary and richness beneath a calm surface. That's the philosophy behind Marsh Press: bringing together diverse voices, nurturing growth, and helping brands and stories flourish in every environment. My work thrives at the intersection of ideas and disciplines, blending storytelling, strategy, and design in unexpected ways. My goal is to press forward—fostering connection, clarity, and creative impact.
